Client: Olympic Delivery Authority
Architect: John McAslan & Partners
Build Method: Full SIPS structure into steel frame
Two landmark energy centres on the western and eastern boundaries of East London will provide power for the Olympics and for the subsequent regeneration of East London.
The technically advanced and environmentally considerate power generation buildings will be embedded into the community rather than hidden from it.
Incorporating 180mm SIPS with factory bonded EPDM external covering, fixed back to main steelwork supports, incorporate 2 layers of internal plasterboard to provide 75 minutes fire resistance.
Cor-ten steel mesh panels and Schuco glazed curtain wall will provide the external finish.
